I Love Getaways

The day to day has the ability to get so mundane so quickly. Work, school, homework, home projects, extra curricular, grocery store, lather, rinse, repeat. It's always nice to have a little something planned in the form of a getaway to help you get through it!

So, Easter weekend we abandoned the children...

And hightailed it for the Promised Land!

What a treat to relax and enjoy each other, great friends, fantastic scenery, delicious food and of course....

Today my daughter went to school dressed as a Roman. The class will be presenting their reports on Rome & Roman culture dressed in period attire, and later they will feast with their bare hands on chicken, fruits, and the like. So, last night I set Dani's hair as the first step in her transformation, and this morning I completed the metamorphosis...

More like Roman GODDESS!!!!

As for the Recreation portion of this blog... That will be provided by Michael, who donned his Mickey Mouse hockey jersey for the sports themed spirit day today! Go get 'em bruiser!

Weekend In Review

On Saturday while Travis & Michael we're having fun hanging out with MY family for Ripley's 3rd birthday... I spent the day with my friend Kristen in an old costume storage digging through musty dusty racks of clothes looking for the Peter Pan costumes and properly putting away the Seussical clothes. My fingers would actually turn black from the amount of dust on the garments! And needless to say the allergies went into overdrive! But it was all for a good cause and Sunday would be my reward!

On Sunday we joined Alex & Nicole, Mick & Mel, and others down at the beach! What a perfect day! The kiddies had so much fun in the sand...

But soon it was time to go...And the sun began to set....

So it was one more run after the Goosters (aka seagulls)...

SHE DID IT!!!!!

Tuesday night we got the happy news! Danielle will be starring as Wendy in the upcoming production of Peter Pan! This will be her sixth show and first lead role! We simply could not be more proud of her!

Auditions were held on March 21st and she received a March 28th call back for Wendy along with seven other girls! Call backs were nerve-racking, but she was happy with her performance. On Sunday, March 29th we went to Disneyland... and Miss Danielle dressed very Wendyesk for the day.

So, Michael decides he wants to go on the Storybook Ride... It went down something like this:

Danielle: I wonder which boat we'll get?

Brian: It looks like Alice.

Me: Wouldn't that have been funny if we got the Wendy boat?

My Mom: If we got Wendy that would be an omen.

Park Worker: Alice isn't your boat, you'll be getting the next one... It looks like Wendy.

WTH!?! We friggin' got the Wendy boat! Dani & I were totally dying! And two days later it was announced! Friggin' amazing!
