Conferences With The SOE

Friday, January 30th marked the age old tradition of parents meeting with teachers to discuss student progress & development. We already knew that Danielle & Michael had earned awards for excellence, so really what more could there be to discuss!?!
Well……
Danielle is a precious girl who is so helpful and brings so much charm to the classroom. (But we’ve stuck her in isolation because she can’t seem to keep her enthusiasm for gab contained. No wonder she’s an ‘A’ student! What else does she have to do in solitary but work & study! Beautiful! I love it! She’s not going to change so don’t bother trying, excellent decision… moving right along).
Her “hieroglyphics” do leave a bit to be desired. (Summer writing classes! Decoding Dani. Great Idea)!

And Michael……
Michael is such a fun boy (code for I drink heavily on a daily basis after dealing with this child)
Academically he’s doing really well (waiting for the shoe to drop)
He needs to work on his writing (no problem… summer writing along with Danielle)

Wait for it…........................
.......
But he just can’t seem to keep his hands out of his pants (OH! Did I say shoe? I think that was a hip-boot!)
The other children are starting to take notice (can’t put anything past this kindergarten class)
Maybe you could speak to him (why speak when duct taping pencils to his fingers & hands would effectively take care of both issues!)

So there it is. Though it’s really not that big of a surprise. I have found that genius usually comes with some kind of set-back or quirk. And in the case of my children they will be gabbing and grabbing with brilliance all the way to the bank!
